Description
Finance Systems Business Analyst now required to join our London based publishing on a new finance systems change project.
Your role will include understanding the current finance system and processes and working with senior management with defining and specifying future requirements for a new Financial Management System. The preferred candidate will hold a thorough knowledge of current accounting practices and along relevant commercial experience and strong Business Process change management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Analysis of limitations of the existing platforms and programs.
- Assist with definition of future state requirements for the Financial Management System
- Work with the finance team and key stakeholders to develop new processes in keeping with current best practice accounting procedure and document all related requirements for a new solution, including running information gathering workshops across the business.
- Review and sense check detailed process maps of existing processes within the finance function.
Creating process maps/flow charts showing the requirements of a new system.
Assisting with the analysis of potential suppliers, including participation in vendor demonstrations and selection. - Working with Finance on the creation of a Chart of Accounts and coding manual for distribution along with management team for reporting requirements. Co-ordinating testing of system in test environment along with managing the cut over and full implementation of new system.
Managing the introduction of new processes, training
Skills & Experience:
- Strong Finance systems and analysis understanding along with strong technical accounting experience, including best practices.
- Strong understanding of requirements definition and business process modelling including System implementation and UAT.
- Strong process management experience within finance functions and technical frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience of publishing industry, including an understanding of Royalty systems.
- Prince 2/PMP or equivalent qualification an advantage
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA an advantage
