Our Client is a leading supplier of vehicle information systems to major automotive customers. They principally develop software to operate the instrument pack and interface with the vehicle communications network. Our client has been developing vehicle information instruments for sixty years and has grown to be a major producer of vehicle instrumentation worldwide.

Role Outline

This role, working within the Software Development Team and reporting to the Software Engineering Manager is for a motivated software Test engineer to test embedded software functionality for an instrument pack, the principal driver information instrument. Your skills will make you a natural choice to focus on automated testing, but you will participate in all types and all stages of verification where appropriate, from requirements analysis to regression testing.

" Plan, analyse and agree development and testing criteria as well as acceptance protocols
" Creation and adaptation of preexisting module tests and Module Testing
" Create and execute automated test scripts ( Vectorcast ) and improve test processes
" Development and execution of software tests for software integration
" Ensure that developed products meet design specifications
" Requirement, Code and Test Reviews
" Basic hardware/software interaction debug

Key Applicant Requirements

" 2-4 years' solid testing experience in an Embedded C environment , with ability to work with a minimum of supervision
" Automotive protocol experience such as CAN
" Use of tools such as CANoe
" Understanding of 'low-level' software for embedded applications, ideally for 16/32-bit microcontrollers
" Excellent Communication Skills
" Flexibility to adapt in a fast paced working environment
" Team player, with motivation and enthusiasm to deliver projects on time with quality
" A degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline is essential.

Advantage
" Knowledge and practice of automotive SPICE
" Use of Mantis, SVN, MKS and in particular RTC
" Familiarity with Fujitsu Microcontrollers
" Display technologies including LCD, LED, TFT and stepper motor drivers
" Knowledge and practical use of Vector Cast
" Familiarity with EB Guide
" Previous experience of MKS, Rational Team Concert, Mantis and Subversion
" ISEB testing qualification
