Firmware Automation Tools Development Engineer(Junior and Senior experience levels welcome)
We are looking for a software development engineer to join our client's firmware team. The person on this position will be responsible for maintaining and developing tools that are used by all the client's IP group (a few hundred users). Firmware Automation Tools Development Engineer will also be collecting feedback from representatives of users and creating technical documentation. As it is an independent position project management skills are required.
Key requirements:
- Programming in C++, Perl, C,
- Experience with writing / maintaining parsers,
- Understanding of computer generated data formats (e.g. XML),
- Understanding of hardware busses and general hardware architecture of a system-on-chip,
- Ability to automate the development flow,
- Knowledge of scripting languages (bash, python).
Beneficial requirements:
- Programming in at least two of the following: Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL, SystemC
- Knowledge of hardware simulation environments,
- Understanding of Verification IP tools,
- Debugging software in embedded systems
- Linux driver knowledge,
Soft skills required
- Ability to drive the project,
- Understanding of the software verification process and generation of test reports,
- Ability to raise any quality issues with the team and management,
- Good communication at high technical level with firmware and hardware engineers,
- Ability to work in a team spread over multiple time-zones.
