Position: Contract Manager - Supply Chain
Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
Rate: £280 per day

Location: South West
Background:
This role involves managing supplier relationships, adherence to KPIs and continually assessing quality of service and/or product to ensure effective, value for money delivery from the supply chain; Negotiating contracts and managing tenders; Holding supplier forums to proactively engage the network and keep up to date with developments in the industry; Preparting monthly reports and working closely with internal and/or external stakeholders to evaluate customer needs.
Candidates who only have the following will be considered for this role:
- Awareness of EU Public Sector Legislation
- Experience in strategic contracting
- Proven track record that they have previously produced strategic papers (as the documents are to be reviewed at director level)
- Able to work on own initiative/self starter/self motivated
- Confident- Dealing with doctors and consultants regularly
- CIPS qualification or equivalent
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
You will be responsible for the following activities:
- Assist in the maintenance of NBS facilities to the highest standards, to meet the NBS, its stakeholder's regulatory authorities and statutes.
- To maintain and manage equipment under control of Facilities. Proactively make certain that faulty equipment is repaired or replaced accordingly.
- Ensure excellent customer service and be responsible for a section or defined area of work.
- Provide cover for Reception or mailroom services if required.
- Assist and deal with Donors/visitor requests when covering Reception.
- Responsible for the accurate log of all untested Blood samples and tissue samples received on Reception and ensuring the relevant department are notified for collection.
- Ensure the samples are stored in a safe place prior to collection. Operate the Featurenet switchboard, in accordance with the BT procedures.
- Assist with all Health and Safety issues and Quality Assurance.
- Facilitate in the assurance that all Facilities staff and contractors are aware of any risks that have been identified.
- Ensure all contractors visiting site for works are made aware and given the guidelines on Health and Safety site rules for contractors.
- Maintain and assist in ensuring that the Health and Safety documentation is current. Downloading all updated/relevant policies from the Intranet as required.
- Participate in the awareness of GMP practices for contractors.
- Assist in advising and influencing departments were conflicting demand impact with;
Legislation and Health and Safety advice (ie condition of plant and overloading of circuits).
