Configuration Analyst SR - Contract - Bedfordshire - £40 p/h
Specific Job Description:
The role has 2 aspects:
One is to provide configuration control support to the manufacturing team to assist with overcoming problems encountered in first build whilst ensuring that the design and as-built configuration records are maintained 100% accurate at all times.
The second is to operate as an additional member of the configuration and data management team as required to deal with work load peaks and staff shortages. This role covers data management, change control processing and baseline management using the PDM tool Windchill.
Required Skills:
The candidate will exhibit strong personal drive to prosecute the work to a high standard whilst meeting the programme needs in a time constrained domain. She or he will have a well developed understanding of the principles of configuration management as applied to establishing a design standard in a development environment. The candidate will be able to apply those principles to assist the manufacturing team to overcome build problems quickly whilst maintain 100% configuration control of the design standard and the as-built records. The candidate will be able to apply their configuration knowledge to the processing of data management, change control and baseline management in the PDM tool Windchill. Thus a working knowledge of SAP and Windchill or Teamcentre would be strongly advantageous.
Either a strong configuration background or a strong design office management background recognising the application to configuration control would provide good foundations for consideration
Desired Skills:
- Experience within a similar role and industry (highly regulated). Good understanding of drawing management and drawing change.
- Previous experience as CAD draughtsperson, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing/Production, configuration but not just configuration experience.
- Must understand drawings so possibly may have been a design engineer.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through around 6 years of professional experience. Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience/combined education.
