Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit a PCB Layout Engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

The Client:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation are looking to recruit a Contract PCB Layout Engineer.

The Job:
The Hardware discipline in the Bedfordshire area are looking for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to work in the currently highly skilled function.

This role requires working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to develop schematics and then produce layouts and manufacturing data packages for a variety of products. This role will also require interaction with external PCB manufacturers sub contract assembly teams with a view to delivering boards with a high level of quality and manufacturability in a timely manner.

Key Responsibility Areas
Hands on experience of implementing complex digital and analogue/RF designs.
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process.
Experience of producing data pack for supply to vendors.
Knowledge of PCB materials and latest technologies (stacked micro vias)
Solid understanding of layout techniques for good Signal Integrity.
Hands on experience of Mentor Toolset, including BoardStation, Expedition Enterprise, DxD, IOD and CES.
Knowledge and experience of BGA placement and routing, ideally with 12+ layer PCB designs with Impedance control.
Experience of design checking principles such as the Valor DFM toolset.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Knowledge of IPC standards associated with PCB design.
Excellent communication skill and an ability to work co-operatively with others, creating and harnessing a team spirit within and across other company sites to achieve agreed goals.
Ability as a team player, able to listen and to discuss solutions with other members of the Engineering team that contribute to delivering great customer experiences.
Evidence of a proactive attitude in recognising problems and proposing possible solutions
Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivating and the ability to plan and organise own tasks
