I am looking to hire Quantity Surveyors for public sector client.

Essential Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience, Demonstrate that the client are receiving value for money

Additional qualifications required for this role

Quantity Surveying or Construction related studies

QS qualifications

Full or Chartered status from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Key tasks and deliverables

Responsible for managing all costs relating to the Forward Maintenance Register (FMR) programme of building and engineering projects; from the initial calculations to the final figures; the QS will seek to minimise the costs of the projects and evidence value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

The quantity surveyor will be involved in the projects from the start, examining estimates and costs of the work. When the projects are in progress, the quantity surveyor will keep track of any variations that may affect costs and create reports to show value for money has been considered at all stages.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the nature and stage of the project being worked on, but can include:

Reviewing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities where applicable;

Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;

Performing risk, value management and cost control;

Advising on procurement strategy;

Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;

Analysing costings for tenders;

Providing advice on contractual claims;

Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;

Valuing completed work and approving payments;

Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;

Commercial assessment of contractor quotations for building services contracts for all small works (£0 - £500k)

Generate valuation certificates for payment of works when required, providing commercial analysis and reporting contractor performance

Provide commercial reporting and forecasting support to the Commercial Manager

Apply PSA schedule of rates to contract billing Assist with the tendering exercises and the re-procurement of service provision of contractors

Input management reporting for weekly MI reports
