Software Engineer

Description

We are looking for talented software engineers. Our office practices Agile Development Methodologies - building software in a pragmatic and sustainable manner. We start the day by doing a standup meeting at 9:30am and try to end it with cool beverages around 6:30pm. The in-between is filled with pair-programming, test-driven development, a bit of foosball, and solving interesting problems. Our weekly Tech Talk lunch is where we discuss new ideas and refine old ones. It is also a good opportunity to gain experience as a speaker in preparation for conferences. We provide the lunch; you provide the conversation.

Responsibilities:

Planning, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying in an Agile team environment with an emphasis on TDD.

Building, maintaining, and adding features to the front and backend of our applications.

Assisting in continuous process improvement.

Working directly with product teams to manage requirements.

Must be willing to pair-programming.

Skills & Requirements

Must have:

Fluent with at least two of the following languages: Ruby, Python, C, PHP, Java.

History using one of the following databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.

Experience using multiple MVC frameworks (Rails, Symfony, Django, Laravel, etc).

Understanding of TDD.

Huge plus if you have some of these:

Having a Github/Bitbucket account with some hobby projects.

Having contributed code to open source projects.

Having written blog, articles, books about programming.

Having given speech in programming conferences, such as PyCon, RubyConf.

Knowing data structures and algorithms, such as: binary trees, graphs, linked list, sorting, dynamic programming, etc.

Experience in Agile development methodologies.
