Job Profile:

Degree qualified Instrumentation engineer with excellent onshore operational experience required to work at a leading onshore refinery based in the South of England.

Responsibilities:
  • You will play a pivotal role by being responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all instrument maintenance within the plant. (Refinery, Processing, Chemical)


Responsibilities include:

  • The selection, specification and review / approval of all instrumentation to be installed.
  • Control and Instrumentation engineering at all phases of project development from conceptual feed to detail design, such as, control and safety systems philosophies, specifications for process control systems and safety systems, specifications for filed instrumentations, size calculations, etc;
  • Responsible for solving problems affecting facility operations
  • Increasing flow rates
  • Responsibility for approval of instrumentation specification sheets and construction drawings produced by the site drawing office. For larger scale projects and working alongside the site EPC contractor, this role has the responsibility of deciding and approving the instrumentation proposed including technical bid evaluation of vendor submissions.
  • Responsibility for determining test intervals for Safety Instrumented Systems in order to meet the required Safety Integrity levels assessed for that system.
  • Responsibility for the design and acceptance testing of new Instrumented Systems (Safety or Process Control).
  • Review and approval of Technician SIS Proof Test Procedures


Requirements:
  • Degree qualified
  • A minimum of 6 years experience
  • In-depth expertise working in an operational environment within a major onshore refinery or petrochemical/chemical processing plant.
