My client a leading Cork based company have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with strong ERP experience to join their team on an initial 2 year contract. This role is a salaried role rather than daily rate and would require somebody to commit to the Cork area for the duration of the contract. The ideal candidate does not need to have Dynamics AX experience, a strong background in any ERP technology is required.
The Project Manager's role will be to support the IT. Manager and Financial Controller by participating in and ensuring the successful implementation of Dynamics AX. This will require the Project Manager to participate in detailed tasks on the projects such as requirements definition, process analysis and definition, and system configuration as well as performing project management and administration activities.
The Project Manager will be responsible for training, coaching and mentoring project Team Members and administering the agreed project methodology to migrate business processes and technology away from the current in-house ERP system to Dynamics AX.
The Project Manager will be reporting on a monthly basis to the steering committee, including a Dynamics AX Project Management expert acting in a guidance and Quality Assurance capacity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Analyse business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and integration into Dynamics AX
- Help gather and understand client system requirements for custom application design
- Manage the internal team implementation and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics AX application
- Develop data conversion and testing strategies
- Train end users to use new processes or technology
- Prepare for and lead client meetings and facilitated strategy sessions
- Report to the Financial Controller and IT. Manager
- Develop and manage project budget, schedule and scope
- Create and monitor project tasks
- Lead project steering meetings
- Manage AX vendor, implementation methodology and deliverables
- Evaluate and provide formal and informal coaching and feedback to Team Members
- Position may require some travel to the UK
Required Skills:
- Project Management experience on at least two full life cycle ERP Implementations
- 3 or more years of project management experience managing project teams of 3 to 10 people
- Functional knowledge of core business processes such as accounting, manufacturing, warehouse management, supply chain and preferably also QC/QA required
- Demonstrate a background managing projects in environments that have a high level of urgency, strong results orientation and tight time frames
- Budgeting experience
- Ability to work on projects with tight deadlines, producing high quality work
- Strong organisational skills. High level of personal discipline.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate with all levels of the organisation, including technical teams.
- Flexible - able to plan for contingencies and know when to invoke them
DESIRABLE Skills:
- 2+ Full Life Cycle Implementations of ERP (Dynamics AX) preferred but not essential
- 5 years of relevant consulting or project management experience preferred
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- 4 year degree in business, MIS, or equivalent required; advanced degrees, a plus
- Professional project management certification preferred
