Description

Bindu Media is a newly launched online travel company focusing on helping consumers find the best things to see and do, the best places to stay and more in cities around the world. We do this with a curated set of itineraries and “top lists” that provide content direct from travel experts who package these excursions for ease of use, diversity of experiences and catering to a variety of travelers, preferences and budgets.

The team is based on the west coast, though this WordPress position can be remote.

For this website, we need a versatile WordPress developer who can build out the backend content management system for the site, and also design the front-end user experience, implementing best practices for user-flow, information architecture, and page hierarchy.

Backend Development

Needs include:

Out-of-the-box WordPress content management system

Multiple author contributors and multiple levels of access based on permissions

Bulk import of content already developed for multiple regions, cities and itineraries

Distinct content areas that can be managed from backend, that allow for content to be displayed based on a variety of filters and preferences, as well as by geography, city, etc.

Add support for uploading and managing display advertising

User account creation and management, for storing preferences, purchases, previous trips and more

eCommerce engine for online transactions via the website

Robust tagging system for that translates to filters and multi-modal search for front-end search functionality.

Frontend Development

Needs include:

Multi-page design that includes well-designed homepage, with multiple on-ramps to access content (including by geography, by interest, etc), landing pages for particular interest areas, cities, and then individual pages to host itineraries and content once users select their search constraints.

Robust search functionality, that offers multi-filter search based on user preference.

Individual profile pages for authors to upload bio information, photo, links to relevant websites, and more.

Commenting and “discussion” features on individual pages throughout the site.

Display ad space built into design
