Role: Project Accountant
Duration: 12 months (covering Mat leave)
Location: Crawley
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Dates: W/C 22/29th September

My client is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to fully support the respective Project Managers and the functional teams.

Skills Required:

-Strong Project Accounting experience
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages - Excel, Word, and Access.
-Financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and costing
-Monthly financial reporting
-Good interpersonal and communication skills used primarily internally and potentially externally - both verbal and written
-Ability to operate under pressure and to strict deadlines
-Good organisational skills
-Committed and flexible out side of normal office hours if required
-Ability to review and challenge data arising from Project Managers
-Ability to confidently explain the finances of the projects to senior management and key stakeholders

Desirable:
-Working knowledge of Oracle
-Advanced on Excel
-Part or Fully qualified (highly desirable)

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

-Project Accounting responsibility for a portfolio of projects as prescribed by finance management. Tasks include:
-Full project accounting support to the respective Project Managers and to the functional teams. Review of Costs to Complete/Work In Progress and Inventory Control
-Derivation of Sales Taking Plans
-Actual Turnover/Cash Control /Invoicing recognition
-Reforecasting
-Cost investigations, challenges and cash optimisation
-Participation in and Generation of IBP compliant material for inclusion in Monthly Programme/Operations Reviews
-Participation in Forecast Cost At Completion reviews
-Preparation of Financial Project data for Strategic Business Plans and Multi-Year Budgets
-Assist finance management in preparation of Divisional data for Strategic Business Plans and Multi-Year Budgets.
-Assist finance management in preparation of Monthly Divisional data for BU Management Group and Project Management Community
-* Participation in Bids from Bid/No Bid Review through to Tender Vet and Contract Award.
-* Ensuring due process has been followed and the financial integrity of all bids maintained
-* Preparation of Project Audit Packs
-* Provision of financial data to Business Lines, Divisions and Group as directed by the FC
-* Provide cover for finance management where required (once a sufficient understanding of the business had been attained)
-* To optimise revenue, cash flow and funding, ensure profitability and risk management for the Business Segment
-* Optimisation and efficient application of Financial Tools and Processes.
-* Effectively communicate with all levels of staff via staff meetings, written communications and one-on-one communication. Interact and work with management/employees to promote teamwork.
-* Review and Challenge data arising from Project Management Reviews and Project Cost Reviews.

-Develop good working relationships with all stakeholders
-Be a point of contact for all stakeholders
-Attend and contribute at Project Management & Cost Reviews
