Data Management Engineer wanted for leading defence company in Frimley. The successful candidate will be required to gain SC Clearance prior to start.

The MS Data Management Engineer role is suitable for someone with strong numerical and analytical abilities and/or software/database experience.

Working alongside the Engineering Architecture team and Logistics Team, the successful applicant will be required to develop a clear and accurate picture of component inventory, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data. This role requires an individual who can work within a systems integration environment, liaising closely with suppliers, contractors and the MoD in an alliance construct.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities:

* The Data Management Engineer will report to the Logistics Manager and be responsible, within a team, for capturing the "who, what when & how" of all MS deliveries
* The MS Data Management Engineer would be expected to proactively develop further methods, tools and processes as necessary
* The MS Data Management Engineer will need to collate data from several sources to present a cohesive picture
* The MS Data Management Engineer will work with the MS Logistics Manager & yards to ensure QEC MS achieve their delivery obligations to the shipyards
* The MS Data Management Engineer will work with the MS Logistics Manager to ensure suitable tracking of equipment is undertaken at Shore sites.

Experience & Capabilities:

Essential
* Proactive "can-do" attitude to make MS deliveries a success
* Numerical and analytical ability
* MS Excel capabilities (and/or a willingness to develop these)
* MS Access capabilities (and/or a willingness to develop these)
* Strong communication skills
* Mobility - occasional visits to the warehouse, QEC test facilities and suppliers will be required
* A self-starter - able to identify tasks and execute them without direct supervision
* Track record of working well within a team
* Experience of liaising with engineering teams and suppliers on technical issues

Desirable
* A basic understanding of logistics processes would be an advantage
