An exciting opportunity has arisen for an e-communications officer within Wiltshire Police. This varied role offers an opportunity for someone keen to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and growing range of communications activities. This appointment is for a 6 month period as the role is being reviewed.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that the website and intranet architecture and navigation adheres to web standards on usability and accessibility, and design is consistent with the corporate brand. You'll also advise and support the Corporate Communications Team on web applications and digital communication platforms.

To succeed, you'll need to have experience in web technology including authoring, design and maintenance. You will possess a good working knowledge of content management systems such as Joomla and Microsoft Sharepoint and be passionate about keeping up-to-date with advances in web technology. Experience of using social media platforms in a professional environment would also be beneficial.

Main Competencies:

  • Experience of working in a WEB driven environment including the use of Content Management Systems
  • Experience of HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, ASP, XML, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, FTP software
  • Experience of creating graphics and editing/optimising images for the web
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, problem-solving and decision making skills
