Description
Our client is looking to recruit a Skilled Fitter to join their team at their site in Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire. This is an initial 6 month contract paying up to £16.50 per hour Ltd rate.
As a Skilled Operator your key responsibilities will include:
*Being involved in the manufacture of sub-assemblies and major structures for the Hawk Platform
*As part of an operations team, take ownership for parts of the sub-assembly as directed by your team leader
*Using your expertise of manufacturing/assembly process to assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities for the Hawk manufacturing programme
*Completion of manufacturing tasks in line with engineering drawings and manufacturing process planning's
*Implementing and driving lean improvement initiatives.
*Ensuring that all work performed within the areas of responsibility is conducted in accordance with current Health and Safety and Environmental Protection legislation
*Being responsible for recording relevant platform assembly information within the Manufacturing IT Systems
*Being responsible for working in accordance with the Quality Management System
Skills, qualifications and experience:
*Must have proven experience of working in a Aircraft Manufacturing/assembly role -with a bias toward metallic structures manufacturing
*Ideally have experience of working on Hawk Platforms or other Fast Jet/commercial aircraft
*Understanding of and compliance with FOD and tool control
*Awareness of Health and Safety rules and regulations
*Ideally have experience of manufacturing IT Systems such as SAP, etc..
What the client are looking for in you:
*The ideal candidate for this role should have a background in aircraft manufacturing, ideally from a hawk background, with the ability to work with a like minded team and individually as required.
*Somebody who has the experience of translating manufacturing process and drawings and applying them to the assembly.
*You should have the ability to communicate clearly and confidently across the manufacturing operations team, with the ability to solve problems and issues that may arise during manufacturing process.
*Ability to put new ideas for continues improvement
