Description
I am looking for a SOX Accountant to join a top financial services organisation based in Manchester. The role will require you to come on board and help them with a new project within their business.The role is accountable to deliver through effective, efficient Sarbanes-Oxley, regulatory compliant finance processes, in accordance with local and consolidated GAAP, useable, accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close and external reporting period (month, quarter, and annual). S/he prepares and/or posts journal entries for moderately complex general ledger accounts; and reconciles g/l activity to ensure that the trial balance includes expected transactions and reflects the correct balances. S/he also performs moderately complex accruals, adjustments, reconciliations of accounts or financial data, and any other accounting support operations requested, as assigned.
Experience required-
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting; or equivalent work experience.
3+ years demonstrated ability to perform basic accounting processes with moderate supervision and with relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
1-2 years of public accounting experience in financial services preferred.
2-3 years of experience working the full accounting cycle from transaction through consolidation and close to Financial Reporting.
Experience with accounting applications such as PeopleSoft.
Location: Manchester
Rates- 200 (6 month rolling contract)
