User Experience Designer - Pasadena, CA
Job Summary - This 12 month contract is for a User Experience Designer for a major health care provider in Pasadena, CA. The individual in this position will partner with Product Development, IT Development, and key stakeholders to infuse the user-centered design perspective into the product vision in order to deliver compelling cross-channel experiences. They translate the overall vision into a creative design plan and execute on that plan.
Responsibilities:
Create and lead the creation of amazing interaction designs
Plan for, delegate, oversee, all UX project deliverables (such as strategic vision briefs, concepts, prototypes, etc.)
Champion principles of usability and user-centered design and know when it's ok to violate those principles
Partner with internal business clients to make the best work, finding the intersection between business and user goals
Work closely with other discipline leads to ensure a stellar final product
Work with research team to define correct research processes, and participate in user testing or fieldwork as needed
Collaborate with teammates and clients to ensure that the integrity of the experience is maintained through launch
Represent User Experience in pitch work and business development
Collaborate with internal Product Owners to create project scopes, schedules, and road maps
Scope of the project:
Works with a multiple discipline team of about 5-9 people on about 3 projects at a time. Works with Stakeholders to define the business requirements and user requirements. Works with multi-disciplinary team to develop design solutions and documented prototypes to support development.

Education Requirements:
Prefer a degree in User Experience Design or HCI
The hiring manager is looking for a highly creative person who understands how to work with graphic designers, editors, and product owners in defining and creating Digital design solutions. Is very comfortable in a strong team dynamic, including presenting their design solutions, working with a strong User Experience practice, and thrives in a busy work environment.
Bonus if the person understands responsive design development concepts and designing for Mobile devices.
