My client an international Oil and Gas Engineering is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer (LME). This person will provide day-to-day working supervision of mechanical engineering, civil/structural and mechanical design/drafting disciplines in support the conceptual development and execution of proposals, basic engineering on projects, and functional surveillance of the engineering services subcontractor's work for Integrated Projects

Travel to job sites periodically is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Represents the discipline team at the staff level in engineering through participation in reoccurring staff meetings, fiscal planning sessions, etc.
  • This is working leadership role that also supervises all engineering activity within a defined area.
  • Analyzes project technical requirements and develops staffing plans and guidelines for the immediate engineering activity.
  • Assigns all projects to reporting engineers within the defined area.
  • Ensures quality of engineering deliverables prior to issuance.
  • Monitors and maintains project efficiency with emphasis on accuracy and budgeted time.
  • Serves as the initial escalation contact, for issue resolution, within the defined area.
  • Maintains group workload via communication and work trade-off with other managers as required.
  • Evaluates individual work efforts and compares talent to business needs and recommends suitable corrective actions.
  • Assists Manager Engineering with overseeing training; and implementing engineering policies and procedures.
  • Establishes, tracks, and maintains engineering schedules utilizing the Employee Scheduling Module.
  • Responsible for updating monthly capacity charts showing resource absorption and availability.
  • Receives and schedules all projects within the defined area.
  • Assists Engineering Manager with employee review, and owns the employee development process within this team.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department


Physical Strain:
  • Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • May be required to work at heights of up to 25 feet
  • Must meet all OSHA regulations and must wear all required PPE when in the shop environment.
