Description

We're looking for a Ruby engineer to help us build a set of microservices for our next generation email sending platform.

Challenge:
In order to make our customers experience solid and hassle-free we started building a set of external services and APIs: uptime monitoring, automatic queue triggering, premium version packaging and ultimately email delivery.

Benefits:
We are a 100% remote company accepting candidates all over the world. Everything happens on Slack (https://slack.com/), with a one-hour Monday meeting to organize the week and some occasional emails.

No strict work hours, no fixed vacation days, just goals, getting things done. You'll travel at least once a year.

Skills:
We strive for software minimalism, requiring:
  • Good object oriented design.
  • Plain Ruby experience (we don't use Rails)
  • Sinatra/Rack.
  • Minitest.
  • Basic understanding of REST.

  • It would be really great if you have interest in:
  • Software security.
  • Devops. (We use Ansible)

  • The perks:
  • Work from home
  • Enjoy an open vacation policy
  • Travel once a year to a WordCamp
  • Collaborate with an international team
  • Be part of a project that's still acts like a startup
  • Feel the thrill of making the lives of tons of people better
  • Competitive salary, based on your location, experience, skill set

  • Our plugin:
We've become the most popular plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/browse/popular/) for newsletters in WordPress since we launched in 2012.

We guesstimate that there's about 100,000 active installs, as of 2014.

If you're not using MailPoet, it's because we probably need you to make it better.

    The company:
Bootstrapped, we're running lean since 2012.
We're a team of ten (http://www.mailpoet.com/about-the-wysija-team-members/) in five countries. We speak a total of 6 languages.
We value transparency, making a difference, and doing what's right for our users, and ourselves.

    How to apply:
Please send us email to the address below with:
  • Name and email.
  • Link to your profile/website/blog (No attachments please).
  • Your two best projects.
  • What made you fall in love with Ruby.

  • Due to the amount of emails we receive, please include all the informations listed above.
