An urgent requirement exists for an experienced Windows and Group Policy Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Dublin. This job is to be part of a Windows 7 desktop refresh and calls for someone with expert knowledge in Windows up to 2012, Active Directory and Group Policy.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that the existing GPO's and Logon Scripts which are XP based follow a full review cycle of Assessment, Design, Testing and Implementation to ensure that they will be compliant with Microsoft Windows 7.
The client has a large and complex Active Directory structure; production domain object counts are approximately 40,000 user objects and 16,000 computer objects.
Key tasks
* Work with IT Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot application issues that relate to GPO or Logon Scripts. Determine root cause and create a solution.
* Work with IT management to ensure all GPO's and Logon Scripts are in compliance with overall IT policies and standards.
Required/Desired Skills
* Advanced Group Policy Management- 5 years +
* Advanced Workstation trouble-shooting to support Workstation issues related to policy or network setup
* Experience planning and performing domain migrations and upgrades
* Proficient with any of the following Scripting - KIX/VBS/PowerShell Scripting (Required 2 Years)
* Setup and Manage Active Directory 2008
* DNS, DHCP, WINS
* MCSE/MCITP
* Setup and Manage Active Directory 2012
* Systems Administration of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager
* Experience working in Enterprise Level environments
* Advanced knowledge of configuring and managing group policies to include WMI filtering, preference items, and targeting both user and computer objects.
* Setting up and managing Active Directory Sites and Subnets
