Experience in consumer lifestyle particularly food/drink/retail and health with good contacts and experience across print, online and broadcast.
Strong news sense and as comfortable running a fast paced press office function as they are working across large consumer campaigns.

Skill Requirements

Written Work
*Fully capable of writing all day-to-day written material for client including press releases, features, statements, Q&As, speeches, presentations, award entries etc.
*Amending and improving press releases, internal copy for newsletters etc. drafted by account executives
*Responsible for all campaign evaluation reports, both monthly and annual, for existing clients, and assisting the Account Director on developing, structuring and writing creative annual plans.
*Capable of contributing to creative new business proposals with direction from senior directors.

Media Skills
*Experience of working with a range of consumer media across print, broadcast and online - with a good knowledge of social and emerging media
*Planning and driving the media relations programme for all clients as laid out in the agreed programme of activity, reporting to account director as required.
*Plan and coordinate photo-shoots
*Oversee the delivery of content to media, such as broadcast b-roll, web videos and photography
*Help deliver and oversee media relations activity at events, such as launches.
*Pro-actively seeking and identifying publicity opportunities to ensure that the maximum level of coverage is achieved for your client, project etc.
*Commissioning and analysing research including surveys and focus groups, and leading the media roll-out to achieve maximum coverage.
*Liaising with senior directors on strategic issues and media handling issues, including crisis management and advising client as appropriate.
* Lead on advising on media handling including interview briefings, developing Q&A's, exclusives, embargoes and damage limitations.

Essential Skills
*Experience of working with multiple stakeholders - such as clients, sponsors, other agencies, ambassadors and their agents
*Strong understanding of the media landscape and what works in the consumer affairs and consumer lifestyle space
*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels; with strong verbal communication skills, and ability to write appropriately for differing requirements (press releases, Q&As, briefing documents, case studies, etc)
*Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills
* Overseeing the management and organisation of events ranging from workshops, photo calls, press conferences, training days etc. on behalf of clients
*Excellent attention to detail
*Ability to both work as part of a team as well as manage others effectively within it
*Solid experience of using Microsoft Office programmes (including Excel & PPT), as well as online tools including Gorkana, Kantar, RAJAR, Year Ahead, Red Pages, etc

General Skills
* Have a creative input in all new business pitches within account group.
* Play the central role in the team and take full responsibility for your clients and any problems.
* Proof read all written materials for sign off by account director.
* Implement and supervise progress of PR campaigns, including delivery against KPIs.
* Experience of budgeting procedures on all clients, projects
* Mature ability to brief designers, photographers and printers in a knowledgeable and precise manner, negotiate costs etc., and manage quality control deadline problems etc.
* To motivate and supervise Account Execs, including handling internal issues and problems before escalating to Account directors.
