Front End Engineer Needed

We need you to help us build clean, modern, easy-to-use interfaces that will redefine how managers interact with candidates and employees.

As a Hireology Front End Engineer, you will join our small but growing user experience team to set standards, improve our user's experience, and reinforce consistency across all devices. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, refactoring, and optimizing the front end part of our site. When paired with a UX designer, you will be tasked with understanding use cases, developing innovative prototypes, and coordinating with engineering to bring the final prototypes to our customers.

Hireology is based in Chicago, but our Engineering and UX teams work remotely, so you'll have the option of working from the comfort of your home or right in our office if you're local. The things you will do

Work with the product and user experience team to identify new features and functionality

Develop and iterate on functional prototypes to be user tested

Work with engineering teams to convert prototypes to working views in the application

Handle hotfixes for any front end issues that may be discovered

Manage global CSS and JS to ensure that they are clean, efficient, consistent and up-to-date

What you need

Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role

Passion for creating great user experiences

Mastery of HTML and CSS

Solid understanding of Javascript, not just jQuery

Experience with Bootstrap (or other front end frameworks)

History with SASS (or other CSS preprocessors)

Knowledge of Git (or other source control systems)

Bonus points for

Ruby on Rails experience

Experience working remotely
