Role details: A higher education institution based in the South East has a requirement for a User Support Technician to provide 2nd line support.
Working as as part of the Specialist User Support team you will respond to tickets, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, check errors and resolve user queries. You will use your previous experience as a User Support Technician to check disks, administer anti-virus software and deal with specific user issues including Wifi and email configuration.
You will have good knowledge of both MAC OSX and Windows Environments (Active Directory integration) as well as experience of Dell and HP hardware environments.
It is essential to have Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification and knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. You must also be motivated to take advantage of training provided with Windows 7 and user support.
Previous experience working with VOIP is desirable but not essential. It will be useful to have previous education sector experience but this is not essential.
