Communications Manager - Financial Services

My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, is looking for a Communications Manager to join on a contract basis. This role is to support the GBM portfolio Communication Manager by providing excellent communications to clients, both internally and externally (where appropriate), as part of a global portfolio communications programme. You will be expected to deliver first class communications and stakeholder management, whilst maintaining portfolio confidentiality.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of cross-programme support, working primarily with the Communications Manager, to produce high quality material which is consistent across GBM
  • Heavily involved in the management of the Intranet, which is based on SharePoint. Designing of new pages and initiatives
  • Use of our communication methodology to ensure consistency and alignment (where appropriate) to any existing or forthcoming Group standards (eg Branding)
  • Review and editing of updates/communications received from programme teams. These will often require re-writing in a manner that is understandable by readers who are not familiar with the programme.
  • Defining and documenting procedures
  • Practicing robust change control procedures

Key requirements:

  • Experience of engaging with senior stakeholders, communications managers and subject matter experts
  • Delivery-focused and comfortable working to specific deadlines
  • Have a communications strategy background
  • Excellent design skills - show creativity in writing, assisting in campaign ideas, and tools (eg Photoshop, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Excellent PowerPoint and SharePoint skills.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude, be a team player, and be well organised
  • Excellent writing skills (clear and unambiguous)
  • A background in corporate communications, or document writing/publishing
  • Experience of working in large corporates, ideally global investment banks
  • Excellent grammar, documentation skills and attention to detail
