Responsibilities
As the Estimator you will make estimates of expected costs of delivering products or services. The duty of estimator is to identify the costs involved in the projects and to create budget according to the cost projections. The responsibilities include researching the market to identify the costs of extending the products or services to the market.
You will also conduct market researches to identify what the customer or client requirements to plan. Other duties include researching materials, labour market, equipment costs, etc.
As the estimator you will also compare quotes by different suppliers & contractors. You will use software tools to ascertain the costs and risks involved in the projects. The duties also include preparing and submitting quotations. You will also oversee and manage procurement and logistics. An estimator also makes sure the different stages of development are progress as per the plans and the costs are kept to within the budget.
Experience
?Good understanding and experience of working on large and small scale estimations
?Function Point counting experience
?Experience with IFPUG
?Demonstrable track record of contributing to projects and achieving results.
