Description
Purposes:
The Web Design Engineer works under supervision on assigned tasks. This position employs experience as an experienced but entry-level professional. He/she utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities in designing and building user interface pages using a variety of software applications, techniques and development tools. The Web Design Engineer is a member of the team and is given general direction in work assignments. He/she will be expected to solve non-complex technical issues and complete design tasks with minimal supervision.This is a 1 year contracted position with possibility of a 1 year extension based on performance, need, and budget.
Responsibilities:
- Develops moderately complex code using HTML, Visual Basic or other web-based programming languages.
- Performs moderately complex usability testing/user validation on proposed solutions.
- Develops moderately complex user interface features, site animation and special effects.
- May develop creative solutions within constraints.
- Develops content structure and process flow from requirements.
- May coordinate with web content developers and graphics designers to ensure that needs are technically feasible.
- May provide technical site maintenance and advice on issues related to animation, search engine techniques, link integrity, navigation, browsers, graphics, and other technical web developments.
- May provide technical support, and administration of the software infrastructure for the implementation and maintenance of web sites.
- Communicates clearly with all team members and customers as needed.
- Prioritizes and completes expected deliverables on time.
- Works collaboratively as a member of a team to accomplish group tasks.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience. Experience: Generally 3-4 years relevant experience. Skills:
- Has good working knowledge of web activities, internet techniques, tools, HTML code, JAVA, GIF, animation, browsers and basic GUI design related applications.
- Takes initiative to address tasks needing attention.
Worthiness Qualification:
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
