Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:- This individual will become expert in the assembly and operation of the company's surface systems and down hole tools.
- A Field Support Engineer will provide recommendations, advice, and train customer personnel on the proper "best practice" assembly and operation of the company's equipment.
- This individual will provide guidance and technical expertise to the customer's LWD engineers at the rig site to ensure proper job execution, overall performance of service, and to ensure that the company's technologies are being properly delivered.
- A Field Support Engineer must be able to interface and communicate effectively with customers at all levels especially those using or maintaining company products in the field.
- This individual will schedule and organize customer training to ensure adequate knowledge is transferred to our customers to operate the equipment.
- This individual will advise and assist in the design and testing of systems and software required for operation and support of the Company's products in the field.
- This individual will be responsible for recording operational data and compile complete relevant job documentation and reports during field trials to ensure that the products are meeting performance specifications.
- This individual will make performance improvement recommendations to Product Management based on observations and knowledge he/she has gained on the rig site while conducting field trails and during customer product rollouts.
- This individual will possess strong written skills as he/she will be required to assist in keeping up to date field manuals, training manuals, and related documentation by recommending to Product Management changes and by submitting updated materials.
- A Field Support Engineer must have working knowledge of computer networking and Windows, including basic troubleshooting skills.
- This individual will work safely at all times and ensure that all safety standards of the company and the safety standards of our customers are met and maintained.
- Must be on call 24 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Minimum requirements are a BS in Engineering or Geology.
- Significant (5+ years) previous MWD/LWD experience, although recent graduates who are very highly motivated team players are also encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity in delivering additional services such as vibration and drilling efficiency analysis, formation pressure testing, acoustic, and/or magnetic resonance LWD.
- Experience in directional drilling, including the use of rotary steerables, is a plus.
- A local or someone with Africa experience will be preferred.
