An application support role has arisen within an asset management client of mine. This is a year long contract (very competitive rate) that looks to role and will be based in London.

The succesfull candidate will work in the futures application support team that provides 24 hour support for user base in London, New York, Hong Kong and Hamburg; we are responsible for providing support for Front office, middle office and back office applications.

The candidate must have good business knowledge of Futures business and have IT experience in Futures and Commodities.

The key responsibilities are:

* Provide Support for Electronic trading systems.
* Working with traders to resolve any trading or clearing related issues.
* Undertake Project work
* Monitor and maintain trading systems
* Constantly keeping up-to-date with any exchange mandated upgrades that may affect the GCG environment by sharing the information and properly planning for the changes needed.
* Testing client and server side applications before installation and upgrades and following up with users after upgrades.
* Ensure all trading systems users are running the current versions of software as well as the correct configuration files.
* Identify and troubleshoot incompatibilities and work with the different vendors and development groups to get the issues resolved.
* Maintain test environments to help plan for changes.
* Maintain DR for the futures group

Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

- Support of the ULBridge FIX infrastructure
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux
- Knowledge of FIX
- Knowledge of Fidessa is a plus
- Proven knowledge and experience of working with Trading technologies (TT) both X-Trader and gateway Knowledge for LIFFE,CME,EUREX,ICE,LME markets
- Proven knowledge of Market data, Reuters and Bloomberg
- Undertake project work
- Must be able to work under pressure with tight project deadlines
- Flexibility to cover variable shifts as necessary
