Operational Risk Analyst/Administrator: Leading Energy and Oil Co

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for an Operational Risk Analyst to join their Governance, Risk and Assurance Team in London.

About the Role:

  • Lead the global loss event reporting process for the Trading & Supply department.
  • Drive a culture of learning from incidents of near misses as this is critical to both protecting the asset base from material loss and can have significant business impact.
  • Gather information, identify themes and potential areas of high risks and then drive change in process leveraging capability across the organisation.
  • Lead selective deep dives on areas of risk or concern to either drive process change across the organisation or provide assurance to management that levels of risk are within tolerance.
  • Ensure that the Trading & Supply department has appropriately undertaken and evidenced governance activity across the department network and is continuously monitored.
  • Risk, control, action & accountability to satisfy close scrutiny from any relevant regulator (ie FCA, CTFC, etc).

About You:

  • Significant experience within Risk Management/Analysis on a Global scale.
  • Good experience within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Good experience within a Trading Environment.
  • Meticulous attitude with attention to detail.
  • Technical background. A technical degree is useful but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulators (ie FCA, CTFC, etc).

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
