Communications and Consultation Manager; London; 6 months; £310/day

My client a well known public sector organisation is looking for a Communications and Consultation Manager in London for 6 months. The ideal candidate will have experience within the Government and Education Sector.

Key tasks and deliverables
*Providing communications support and expert communications advice to Programme Director, Programme Leadership Team and projects teams in line with the requirements of the Programme;
*Developing and ensuring the successful implementation of the Programme Communication Strategy and Plan (including a detailed yearly communication programme) and ensuring that any upcoming pressures or communications issues are flagged or planned for
*Proactively managing internal communications and ensuring effective communication within the PSBP team
*Successfully managing external communications and providing expert stakeholder management advice to the team.
*As the Lead Drafter for the correspondence cases (including ministerial and Number 10 briefings, FOIs, PQs, POs and CEO Cases) managing correspondence activity for the Programme and coordinate the delivery of appropriate responses to all lines of inquiries- including applying relevant editorial and strategic communications input and control.
*Managing the mailbox-including providing standard responses to generic supply chain enquiries, liaising with relevant colleagues to answer more specific questions, escalating any cases that should be logged on Echo eg FOI requests
*Supporting project delivery teams in managing key communication and consultation events, including organising new school opening and turf cutting ceremonies through liaison with the relevant team members, schools, contractors and trade and local press;
*Managing the website content to ensure that it is up to date and that there is consistency across pages.

Essential Experience
*Leading high level government communication programmes.
*Drafting official government correspondence, including Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information requests.
*Developing and updating website content via a content management system.
*Identifying and generating engaging internal news in a complex organisation and of measuring and evaluating communication impact
*Planning and managing events.
*Working with the media.
*Working in a complex working environment where there is a need to structure a persuasive argument and draft clearly and succinctly at pace.
