My client, a rapidly expanding pharmaceutical company based in Galway, are seeking an Operations Excellence Specialist to join their new PMO team as part of the supply chain function.

The Operations Excellence Specialist will:
  • Conduct process audits for existing processes. Ensure a consistent OPEX presence in the office areas, work areas/shop floor/labs through gemba walks, 5S activity, Kaizen events, implementation of visual management, etc. Manage, Perform and Report on periodic audits to check control compliance and report findings/recommendations back to management
  • Support continuous improvement projects andKaizen events.
    • Forge a close partnership with site Finance personnel and co-develop detailed financial analysis and process mapping for all projects in the OE portfolio. Demonstrates the ability to identify and apply relevant product cost benchmarks to quantify improvement opportunities.
    • Stay current in industry practices (both OE and site technical processes) and continue to become educated in the OE discipline.
    • Access and analyze processes (Familiarity with process mapping), data points, and controls to determine sub-optimal performance, communicate findings clearly and effectively and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Strong analytical, logical and creative thinker effective at problem solving and detail-oriented. Leverages knowledge of manufacturing principles and product costs and drivers to support the DTV (Design to Value) process.
    • Lead the engagement with business users to define business requirements and understand & explore business issues being encountered.
    • Facilitation of client workshops where applicable to understand business workflows and requirements and/or present and validate potential solutions


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • BS or BA - Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or Operations related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
    • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team in executing/implementing projects.

  • Formal continuous improvement training and certification. Ideally Green belt certified.
    • 3+ years' experience in a project based role, across Process Design / Business Process Improvement, business analysis or project management.
