Need candidate that is available to travel between Raleigh and Morganton NC. Overnight stay and mileage compensated.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is in need of a Senior IT/Wireless Architect who must possess extensive experience with WiFi, VHF, UHF, and RFID wireless environments. This position will provide both wireless Information Technology consultative, wireless technical architecture support and business case short and long term financial cost benefit analyses of wireless infrastructures. Candidate must have technical managerial lead experience on large, complex automation/IT infrastructure implementation projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical analysis and detailed documentation of the current as-built environments, both the application and network.
  • Performing industry research to define/quantify a fully integrated solution and to assess the most appropriate technology applications to support business requirements.
  • Serving as technical point of contact for wireless gathering, review, validation and documentation of the business, functional, technical requirements, architecture design and security architecture.
  • Assisting with planning and execution of a product/system review, research, and procurement process (RFI/RFP/IFB development).
  • Developing and reviewing disaster recovery plans, system implementation plans and methodology deployment plans.
  • Responsible for leading large-scale projects including technical architecture design, configuration, installation, and implementation, which includes LAN, SAN, WAN, Servers, Virtualization, VoIP, WLAN, video, and Real Time Location Services (RTLS).
  • Extensive skills in state of the art technologies and an in-depth understanding of technical architectures, hardware platforms, and the North Carolina Statewide Technical Architecture.
  • Developing wireless technical & non-technical solutions for supporting Business Process Reengineering.
  • Developing business case cost benefit analysis for wireless and other technical infrastructures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience participating in large scale "state of the art" projects crossing a myriad of functional areas, ie, LAN, WAN, SAN, VoIP, computing, video, wireless, and security.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of wireless-related technology components including, but not limited to, mobile devices and handhelds, as well as mobile security, Middleware and integration software.
  • Extensive experience in 802.11 a/b/g/n, VHF, UHF and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in the design and development of the infrastructure, network architecture and data formats for wireless implementations.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in wireless technical and industry standards.
  • Significant wireless application deployment and project experience.
  • Experience leading group design, installation and implementation efforts.
  • Technical writing/Documentation skills.
  • Technical Architecture Lead experience on large wireless, complex automation implementation projects.
  • Must be able to travel 3-4 days per week - Morganton, NC. Construction; Greenfield environment. A valid driver''''s license and reliable transportation are also required.

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10) years' experience as a Senior Wireless Engineer
  • Experience working in psychiatric health care environment and familiarity with mental health networks and business processes
  • Understands Project Management Methodology
