Role Title: Commissioning Engineer

Subordinates: Commissioning Assistant(s)

Role:

To ensure the efficient delivery of the Commissioning phase of each allocated project in respect of quality and process compliance, with due consideration of the SHE and costs implications of the business. The role includes the preparation of detailed procedures to cover the commissioning activities and ensuring the availability of records demonstrating the configuration and testing completed.

Responsibilities:

A CE will be allocated to each AMP4 project on receipt of a PO. The CE will, with assistance from the specific MEICA Site Manager, prepare the Delivery Phase Commissioning Plan and obtaining agreement with the site commissioning team. It is anticipated that the AIE will accept the commissioning plan on behalf of UU Operations.

The CE shall attend commissioning meetings at regular intervals, as arranged by the AIE, during the MEICA installation and commissioning phases of projects. The CE shall produce documentation that allow HAZCOMM reviews to be completed on allocated projects.

The CE will coordinate the site commissioning activities to ensure that the project specific requirements and programme are met, seeking guidance form the MEICA Site Manager in the resolution of conflicts.

The CE will ensure that commissioning documentation is either completed or provided by the CA(s) to verify that testing has been completed as required by the test schedules. The CE will produce the Installation Completion and Wet Test Completion reports appropriate to the project and the testing completed.

The CE will ensure that the training plan content is delivered in accordance with the programme requirements for the project, including the coordination of suppliers / subcontractors where specialist training is necessary. The CE will ensure that feedback from the trainees is obtained after each session, and shall review this information with the MEICA Site Manager and AIE prior to the issue of the Training Feedback Report through the collaboration tool.

The CE will be responsible for the marking up the draft O&M Manuals (including the drawings for as-built records) during the commissioning phase of each project, which shall then form the basis of the final version for issue prior to completion.

The CE will prepare the Completion Test Report for each project, using the standard format, at appropriate programme stages and at the completion of the performance trial. This report shall be reviewed and accepted by the LCE and AIE.

The CE shall assist the MEICA Site Manager in the clearance of post-completion defects as required.

Rate: Negotiable on experience

Experience

The successful candidate must:
  • Have a minimum of 5-years experience in the water industry.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of water industry processes.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the water industry.
  • Be able to demonstrate a structured approach to the commissioning of plant, equipment and processes used within the water industry.
  • Have the ability to undertake training of Client staff in the operation and maintenance of the equipment provided for projects.
  • Preferably have the ability to undertake the role of an authorised person and be able to demonstrate an understanding of permit to work systems.
