I currently have a requirement for an experienced candidate with around 5 years experience or more of developing Firmware on a Permanent basis.

I am working this opportunity on an exclusive basis for my client who design and manufacture Lighting Solutions. They are building a new team for the design of their new system called Halcyon.

Your role will involve contribution to firmware development efforts, including the design, implementation and support of embedded firmware for the Halcyon system, develop new architectures and software and liaise with team members.

The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:

A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent/higher qualification) in Electronics (or similar subject)

At least 3 years working knowledge of all phases of embedded firmware engineering including concept, design, coding, integration, prototyping, debugging, and revision control.

Excellent knowledge of C and C++ for embedded applications.

Experience writing firmware for low-power devices and implementing communication protocols.

Completed at least one product lifecycle.

Firmware debugging and fault finding experience.

Writing scripts (matlab, python, powershell etc) to control instruments and data acquisition.

Experience with one of the following applications: sensors, wireless devices, control circuitry.

Technical understanding of mathematical algorithms as well as digital and analogue electronic design.

Understanding of the ARM Cortex M microcontrollers, associated development environments (ARM Kiel and Eclipse desirable) and version control.

Strong Communication skills

Experience in problem solving and project management.
