Position: Contract Manager - IT Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management

Due to continued growth the Xceed Group has two new contract positions available for experienced UK IT Contract Managers to work onsite at our Financial Services client based in Manchester.

Reporting to the Contract Management Lead, the Contract Manager will be responsible for the Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management by managing portfolios of key UK & International suppliers, ie IT development/testing & integration service providers such as IBM, Accenture, Capita and Cap Gemini.

We required an experienced and commercially orientated Contract Manager who is able to operate effectively at strategic and operational levels.  A senior professional with excellent business and communication skills built around a broad and established process and service delivery/supplier management knowledge base. You will have worked in an IT management (infrastructure, application, services and support) related services.

Your role and responsibilities will also include:

  • To immediately support to contractual discussions and set up relationship meetings with Suppliers/Partners
  • Manage/track contractual obligations between Bank and Supplier at relationship/contractual level
  • Setup and manage governance and approval of work orders
  • Setup and manage process of validating work is complete/satisfactory within work orders before payment.
  • Support ES Programme on contractual/commercial matters
  • Provide pro-active service level management, to ensure suppliers deliver within agreed service levels and contractual commitments
  • Manage supplier interfaces, mediating any conflict to resolution.

Experience and skills required:

  • 3-5 years experience working as Contract Manager
  • Excellent management experience of key Supplier Relationships, being the key point of contact/escalation between vendor and stakeholders.
  • Strong Vendor management, 3rd party relationships and contract management
  • Experience of working within a corporate financial services organisation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Solid technical experience covering IT strategy and infrastructure development, multi-architecture systems development, large scale systems integration etc.
  • Develop and maintain on-going relationships with the 3rd party business application software and related services markets.
  • Strong experienced with a hands on' approach to utilising process disciplines involved with IT outsourcing including; service strategy, design, transition, operations and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of good practice models such as COBIT, ITIL, RISK and Information Security functions with governance and business requirements.
  • The ability to identify & mitigate supplier delivery risks; act as primary point of escalation.
