Freelance Web Developer The Freelance Web Developer is responsible for supporting and improving the digital efforts at Trader Vic’s Corporate. This ad-hoc role will be responsible for maintaining the architecture and functionality of Trader Vic’s interactive web sites and applications, ensuring viability for use in multiple geographies and languages. Developer will work closely with members of the corporate team to determine strategies and architectural directions, as well as ensure that all projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Reports to: President and CEO & Trader Vic’s Corporate
Duties: The duties and responsibilities of the Web Developer role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Enhance existing WordPress template to be user-friendly and easily localized by Trader Vic’s franchises
- Maintain and update Trader Vic’s Corporate and Emeryville web pages
- Format Trader Vic’s existing site for mobile users
- Design and implement our Search Engine Optimization, internet marketing, and overall search engine ranking improvement
- Create and implement new features, additions, and enhancements
- Monitor and troubleshoot web sites as needed
- Address service requests relating to fixes, fails, security updates, and proposed web-based application changes
- Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment
- Work with marketing, sales, product and other corporate employees to build a cohesive message and web presence
- Provide status reports on a regular basis
- Must be available to travel regularly to headquarter office based in Concord, CA
- Participate in team meetings on Monday mornings, either in person or via Skype
- 3 + years of web development experience and in WordPress
- Highly fluent in HTML/CSS, PHP, Javascript, and other programing language.
- Portfolio or personal Web site showcasing your work for us to review
- Knowledge of best web development practices
- Strong project management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
- Strong understanding of usability and visual design
- Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good problem solving skills
