For our client in Oslo, we are looking for a WAN Transformation Programme Manager.

About the Project:

Or client is running a global programme to update or potentially migrate to a new provider all of its global network communication services. The WAN Programme Manager will lead this global programme, encompassing over 200 sites in 80 countries. This programme needs to be completed by the end of 2015.

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in the design and delivery of the programme management and monitoring arrangements to be applied to the WAN transformation Programme (hereafter referred to as the Programme)
  • Develop a programme plan and manage the planning processes for the programme in line with best practice methodologies. Ensure the plan aligns with the overall direction and integrity of the Programme objectives and related projects
  • Support the Programme steering with appropriate stakeholders to define the Benefits Realisation Strategy (managing the exit of the incumbent supplier) and benefits tracking processes to be applied to the Programme
  • Lead the evaluation of work streams and projects to assess the change impact and benefits
  • Support the work streams and projects in the management of their activities, including supporting them to develop project management plans and project schedules
  • Ensure that the operation of the Programme is comprehensive and all plans are aligned to the recommendations for which the programme steering has responsibility
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the overarching programme plan, highlighting interdependencies and major gateways as appropriate
  • Lead the monitoring framework, to ensure timely and accurate reporting from each work stream/project and track progress towards the Programme goals and the overall programme plan
  • Lead the development and support, necessary to facilitate the delivery of change management across the organisation
  • Ensure that all work streams and projects are adhering to the programme management protocols, and in accordance with best practices, including structured initiation, controls, risk management and governance
  • Ensure that the management of both the incoming and exiting suppliers is seamless with minimal disruptions to daily operations

Relevant experience

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in managing WAN transformation programmes in a large organisation with a global context
  • Strong experience in managing multinational network providers and Telco's
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques, evidenced through extensive practical experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and expertise in managing projects involving multi-disciplinary stakeholders/groups and the ability to deliver project objectives within tight deadlines
  • An ability to develop and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels in an organisation (both internal and external), including the ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience of developing business cases, programme reports, and giving presentations
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage resources, in both a line and networked environment
  • An ability to prioritize/organize own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to, and to successfully deliver under pressure, whilst displaying ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Financial analysis and evaluation of related initiatives
  • Ability to analyse project needs, determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems

Education

  • Degree, preferably Master (minimum Bachelor), within Business Administration/Engineering/Computer Science, plus minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Long relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education
