Infrastructure Operations Engineer - 12 months, GloucesterInfrastructure Operations Engineer is required for a 12 month contract based in Gloucester. You will be responsible to consult with subject experts within existing teams globally in the deployment of highly scalable and maintainable IT technology.
Type: 12 Month Contract
Rate: £250 - £300 per day
Location: Gloucester
Start Date: November 2014
Required skills and experience:
- Experience in IT operational support in a complex IT environment
* Excellent communication skills - in writing emails & telephone communications
* Strong problem solving & analytical skills
* A strong technical background in the administration of either Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
* A good understanding of Virtualisation technologies, and the day to day support of virtualised IT systems
* Proven experience in IT operational support in a complex IT environment
* Sound knowledge of basic networking principles
* Proven experience with dealing direct with customers, and providing a high level of technical support
Advantageous skills and experience:
- Microsoft Hyper-V Administration
* Linux server administration
* Moderate ability in at least one scripting language
* IIS or Apache advanced administration
* Postfix
* My/MS SQL
* Exchange
* Active Directory
Other comments:
Some out of hours work as required. Lieu time will be given under these circumstances. Must be a great communicator & able to converse with all types of people and articulate ideas, concepts and concerns. You will have the ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines and be organized and motivated.
