An opportunity for an experienced SQL DBA has opened with one of our Education clients in London. They are looking for a SQL DBA to join their team and take responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of the hardware and software facilities that comprise the Business Systems.The successful MS SQL DBA will be expected to fully manage, plan and administer the corporate databases including Oracle and SQL Server databases. The role also involves the technical support and development of various corporate database systems using technologies such as SQL and PL/SQL and maintaining the database security and integrity of these systems.
The SQL DBA will also need to liaise with colleagues, managers and different departments to deliver projects and solutions.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, Enterprise editions including, administration, configuration and installation, performance optimisation, data analysis, backup and recovery.
- Competent in performing data transfers and loads, writing efficient stored procedures and extracting and processing data loads.
- Awareness and experience of installing, configuring and supporting SSRS and SSIS
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise according to project, business and user requirements.
Experience working in the Higher Education sector would be desirable.
