Job Title: Accountant-Solvency II
Client: Lloyds
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months rolling
Rate: £500-£700 P/d
Location: Bristol
Role Purpose:
To manage the provision of a comprehensive tax compliance and reporting service to the LBG life companies, and to contribute to a proactive advisory service in respect of these companies.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED
* Chartered Accountant/Chartered Tax Advisor or equivalent qualification with at least two years of tax experience, including dealing with the tax affairs of life companies either directly as part of the tax team of a life company or as part of the life assurance team within a Big 4 practice.
* Comprehensive understanding of UK taxation, including a detailed knowledge of the tax regime pertaining to life companies. In addition, experience of the tax accounting/reporting rules for the financial statements, PRA returns and Solvency II deliverables is required, coupled with commercial awareness and knowledge of the workings of H M Revenue & Customs.
* Strong interpersonal/communication skills and powers of persuasion and negotiation and management skills.
* Creativity, problem solving and strong analytical and interpretative skills.
* Excellent PC and organisational skills.
* Ability to work without supervision.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Responsibility for coordinating the obligations of the life companies for tax compliance and financial reporting purposes.
2. Responsibility for contributing to advice in respect of the LBG life companies.
3. Manage the relationships between the Insurance Tax team and Insurance Finance, Group Tax Reporting and auditors to ensure all financial reporting obligations and responsibilities for the life companies are understood, and are met in full and on a timely basis.
4. Constantly evaluate the processes for tax reporting and propose and develop ideas to improve efficiency.
4. Manage the compliance processes of the life companies, ensuring all HMRC and Group deadlines for submission of computations, payment of tax and submission of claims
