Next Ventures is urgently looking for a Calypso Developer for contract work based in Amsterdam.

The Calypso team works according to the (agile) scrum development methodology. As a Calypso Developer you are part of a Calypso scrum team that is working for the Collateral Program.

TASKS

- Development of the Calypso system (Java development)

- Configuration of the Calypso system

- Close collaboration with Business Analysts to implement customizations (if required; focus on out-of-the box Calypso).

- Document both configuration and customizations

- Execute unit testing and support Functional/User Acceptance Testing

- Set-up unit tests with JUnit.

- Set-up regression tests with Concordion.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Knowledge/Experience

Requirements (Must-have)

- University level education

- 6 years experience with customisation of Calypso (Java development)

- Back Office knowledge of Calypso.

- Experience with configuration/customization of the following Calypso functionality:

  • Interfaces
  • Accounting rules/events
  • Message Set-up
  • Workflows
  • Task station

- Thorough API knowledge

- Hands-on knowledge of SQL and JDBC.

- Hands-on knowledge of Linux

- Hand-on experience with a source control system such as Git or Subversion.

- Understanding of XML/XML Schema

- Fluent in English, both written as verbally

Preferences (Should-have)

- Knowledge of Collateral, FX, MM, and Equities products (trades + trade events).

- Experience with configuration & customization of the Calypso Collateral Module

- Experience as a business analyst. Ability to bridge the communication gap between business and IT, and bring both parties together

- Experience with the (agile) scrum development methodology

- Knowledge of continuous integration tooling such as Maven/Jenkins.

- Knowledge of Java Server Side frameworks such as Spring, Spring integration, Hibernate, Orika.

- Knowledge of XML tooling - Jaxb, XStream, XSL.

- Knowledge of MQ/Jms
