Description
Responsibilities- Responsible assigning Procurement Categorization Codes (PC Codes) to part numbers
- Responsible for retrieving attributes from blue prints and aligning them to the appropriate PC Code on the taxonomy tree
- Control/Coordinate the release, change and cancellation of production materials in accordance with engineering notices.
- Analyze engineering releases and change notices, related drawings and releasing records for material verification status and effect on mechanized station lists, bills of material, and location requirements.
- Review engineering change notice packages for accuracy and completeness.
- Resolve discrepancies collaboratively with Engineering.
- Update descriptive data, bills of material and location requirements for each part.
- Prepare planning system routing sheets for routing through the planning system.
- Refer to schedules and determining production planning capacity requirements for each part.
- Establish best supply source based upon shop capabilities, past experience, knowledge of similar parts and established guidelines.
Ability to read blue prints for the following areas is critical: Fabrications; Engine Components; Springs; Fasteners; Fluid Conveyance; Hardware; Filters; Wheel Groups; Power Transmission; Gears, Splined Shafts and Planet Carriers; Heat Transfer; Aftertreatment; Moving Undercarriage; Castings; Forgings; Non-Metallic; Operator Compartment; Electrical and Electronics; Ground Engaging
- Detailed understanding of the Global Procurement Categorization Code (PC Codes)
- Experience with the following systems: HVC, EPix, TeamCenter, REDI
- Must have advanced Excel skills including VLookups and Pivot Tables.
- Understanding of the product functionality (How are parts used)
- Detail Oriented
- Previous experience in/general knowledge of engineering, planning and/or materials operations and their related data processing systems required.
- Must have effective written/verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and scheduling skills are needed.
- Background as an Engineer Checker highly preferred.
- Experience using macros would also be greatly desired
