Job Role: Quality Engineer

Type: Contract (3 months)

Quality Engineer

We have a new requirement for a Quality Engineer with responsibility for undertaking activities in support of Quality Assurance compliance and development at the clients Stevenage site to maintain regulatory/3rd Party approvals, satisfy customer quality requirements, and support business improvement

Role

  • Conducting internal audits and support with identified improvement throughout the business to ensure compliance with Customer, Corporate, and 3rd party requirements (AS9100 Rev C, DAOS - DME5000, and EASA/FAA Part 145). AS9001 is important, EASA/FAA Part 145 is preferred but not essential.
  • Interface with identified new and existing Customers to establish robust compliance to quality requirements, Quality Plans, preparation of FAIR's etc.
  • Support the delegation and oversight of QC authorisations held by the Operations Team.
  • Coordination of external audits/NCR's.
  • Quality investigations and improvements.
  • Working with design reviews.
  • Composite experience is preferred but not required, the client will consider an Aerospace Quality Engineer.
  • Pro-active approach supporting the engagement and achievement of quality objectives.
  • Maintain topical awareness of applicable Quality Standards such as AS/EN9100, DAOS, EASA, FAA Part 145 (Note: only AS9100 essential).
  • Consistently present a professional approach with Suppliers, Customers and Regulatory bodies.
  • Provision of accurate and timely data/reports as required by senior management.
  • Act with professionalism, consistency and fairness throughout the organisation.

Common problem: Candidates receive a customer rejection, the quality engineer is responsible for investigating, inspecting the component and then reporting on the issue.

  • Experience of working to AS9001
  • Ideally Auditing to AS9001
  • Conducting Internal Audits
  • QA input to FAIR's
  • Documented QMS improvements
  • Hosting 2nd/3rd party audits
  • Leading and supporting Business CI activities
