Assignment Description
The person we are looking for is an experienced Release Manager with SAP experience. He/She should have capability to manage a complex situation with changes in both standard platform and a number of surrounding solutions ( Legacy ).
The Release Manager will be overlooking/leading the change and release management process of Further Development and Maintenance and will be responsible for developing and executing the deployment requirements, strategy, scheduling of milestones and tasks, identification of risks, contingency plans and support allocation of available resources.
The Release Manager will work closely with the Program Managers, SAR for Development Competence cente, Test Lead, etc.
Tasks
Refine the release and deployment strategy and approach (shorten downtime for releases and upgrades)
Create and maintain the overall program construction and release plan
Create a detailed plan for a release for go-live preparation and go live that defines scope, resources, environments, activities and time plan including:
- Activities in new platforms (SAP and Red Prairie)
- Activities in Surrounding Solutions (Legacy)
Assure resources to manage release
Lead and monitor activities according to plan
Report status, risks and issues to Program Management
Assure (together with TSR and System Responsible) that the maintenance and support organization can take over
Coordinate all system changes required for the release
Plan and handle system maintenance activities (upgrades, corrections, patches) to be included in the releases
Preparation for decision in CAB (Change Approval Board) including roll back plan
Communicate plan, activities and goals to all concerned
Ensure that implementations or changes are traceable, secure and that only correct, authorized and tested version are installed
Mandatory requirements
Experience from release management in a large multinational program.
Proven/strong project management skills
System development experience
Qualifying
SAP system knowledge
Experience from Red Prairie Warehouse Management solution
