Communications and Engagement Co-ordinator;
Berkshire; 3 months; £250 - £400/day (depending on experience)

My client, a well known public sector organisation is looking for a Communications and Engagement Co-ordinator in Berkshire. The ideal candidate will be a skilled and experienced communication and engagement professional, who should be flexible about travel and location. You will be reporting to the Head of Strategic Communications and Engagement

This is a key role in the delivery of effective and responsive communications and Engagement for customers. Working to one of the Heads of Strategic Communications and Engagement, you will have responsibility for the delivery of services tailored to local customer needs for communications and engagement support.

General
*Provide leadership for communications and engagement and involvement strategies and plans to support key customer initiatives
*Provide strategic advice and guidance on internal and external communications and engagement and involvement for customers
*Provide generic communications leadership and support for specific programmes of work
*Manage and lead staff, as appropriate
*Manage and support stakeholder and public engagement and involvement programmes, as required
*Monitoring of political, media and policy developments to ensure that customers are adequately briefed about forthcoming events and announcements
*Advise on, manage or ensure pro-active media relations and campaigns for customers
*Keep ahead of best practice in patient participation and develop new channels of engagement
*Develop a wide range of channels for participation, including ensuring access to seldom heard groups
*Ensure customers maintain a web and social media presence and are kept abreast of developments
*Deputise for the Head of Strategic Communications and Engagement as required

Essential Experience:
*Experience of CCG programmes of work
*Good all round communications experience in complex organisations, including working with the media and new media
*Issues and crisis management
*Ability to work in a customer facing environment
*Campaign/publication experience

Desirable Experience:
*Public engagement/consultation experience
*Project management skills
*Team leadership experience

Security Clearance
*BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a DS)
