Windows/Linux Infrastructure Engineer - Reading - ContractJob Role: Windows/Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Reading
Day Rate: £300-£340 per day dependant on experience
Contract length: 6 Months
A Windows/Linux Infrastructure Engineer is required for a 6 month contract for a key client in Reading. Good academic background: HNC/A-level or greater qualification, MCSE, CCNA, RHCSA, or equivalent working experience.
Key skills required:
- Windows 7 64Bit, Windows Server , Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Remote Management, RDP
- Citrix XenApp6. Deploying software using Wise/Altiris knowledge of Packaging Applications
- 1 year Unix/Linux System Administration.
- Linux Red Hat; Enterprise Release (or similar)
- Veritas Netbackup (or similar)
- RAID concepts, knowledge of HP Servers, HP Workstations and HP laptops.
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH
Day to day duties:
- Providing support for users to agreed service levels, updating incident management system and setting client expectations
- Technical advice/assistance to other support groups and teams; co-ordination of technical projects/change requests.
- Altiris for application deployments.
- Active Directory, polices, and procedures.
- Security Group Management.
- Identifying Network issues, plotting and printing and reporting to the Response Desk team lead where appropriate
- NetBackup for data archives & restores.

Must be a great communicator & able to converse with all types of people and articulate ideas, concepts and concerns. You will have the ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines and be organized and motivated.
