Description
The role:
Our client is a large federal government agency undergoing a period of change and restructure. As an extension of this they have an immediate requirement for several experienced Middleware specialists to provide solutions across a range of Middleware products.
This role is for an immediate start (subject to security checks) and will see you through to the end of financial year, with an additional 12 month extension on offer.
You will be reporting directly to the director of the section, and working with small teams to ensure that required outcomes are being met.
Duties will include:
- Solution design, installation, patching and upgrades;
- Performance tuning;
- Scripting;
- Providing specialist Middleware and database support to new application projects;
- Assist with the resolution of incidents;
- Provide support for changes and releases;
- Provide SME support for the Operations Team;
- Provide specialist Middleware and database support for the problem resolution teams;
- Be a part of the team providing 24x7 support for DIBP systems;
Essential technical skills
- Experience providing support in one or more of the following:
- WebSphere Application Server, MQ, MQ Broker
- IBM HTTP Server (IHS), InfoSphere ( DataStage), Identity Insight
- Tomcat
- Experience in Solution and/or Architectural Design of the Middleware suite of products in a complex ICT environment;
- Experience with Unix operating systems (predominately Red Hat Enterprise Linux);
- Experience with the ITIL framework

- Ability to prioritise workloads in a complex environment and work with minimal supervision;
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with a range of internal stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a technical team;
- Proven analytical skills in a complex IT environment
Other requirements:
- Australian citizenship
- Eligible for a Baseline clearance
This role is for an immediate start following successful security process and represents an ideal opportunity to secure a long-term contract prior to the quieter Christmas/New Year period.
Our client has several positions available for experts specialising in the various Middleware products - there is no requirement that you have dealt in all of the mentioned products to be considered for this role.
