My client, a technology company provides infrastructure solutions to their customers as and when needed. Their offices are based in London but they typically have customer engagements in Europe whereby they would send a Virtulisation Specialist (ie you) to provide support and administration of their product.

The role requires candidates to undertake 1 week unpaid training in Luxembourg (all expenses paid for) before starting your 4 weeks contract. Many contractors that complete their 4 weeks contract are engaged in my clients other European engagements and are extended. The role requires candidates to be flexible in terms of working hours and travel within Belgium to and from customer sites. Accomodation/travel and flights will be expensed by my client.

In the role, you will be:

Designing and implemented data centre public and private cloud computing and virtualized data centre solutions for a wide variety of clients including those in the hosting, financial services, service provider, and enterprise environments.

You will be integrating with the technical teams and middle management to provide guidance on deploying new and existing applications, scaling the environments out, provisioning of resources, cloud automation, security hardening, site replication and DR. This multidiscipline hands on role means you will possess a broad range of technical skills across the whole product

The role requires you to have extensive experience providing solutions within data centre environments and experience with the following technologies:

Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) including fabric interconnects/IOMs (61XX, 62XX, 2104, 2208)
SAN/EMC storage VNX, VMAX, VPLEX,
VMware vCenter, ESXi, etc.
vCloud Director, vCAC, SRM,

Additional Responsibilities:
* Gather requirements and be responsible for the delivery of the technical design, strategies and plans that integrate with the converged infrastructure solution platform
* Recommend and implement changes to improve performance and optimisation of virtual machines and storage
* Documentation and knowledge transfer to local IT staff

The role ideally requires a candidate who is immediately available or a maximum of a 1 week notice period on their current role. The role is initially a 5 weeks contract (including 1 week unpaid, all expenses paid for training) but likely to extend.
