Our client who has been providing insurance and risk management products for a number of years is looking to engage a Risk Officer. The role encompasses BAU risk Management and Solvency II on an Interim Basis. They are ideally looking for someone to start in January and the ideal candidate will come with over five years' experience in Insurance, being with the insurer or via a consultancy. The candidate will need experience in Solvency II and ORSA as this will be a large part of the role. Although this role is office based in London, it may involve regular travel to other European Branches.
Contributing significantly to the Risk Management function, the successful candidate will be involved in providing a focal point to activities relating to the risk assessment, management, and reporting, developing and maintaining a robust risk management framework across the company ensuring that risk exposure is mitigated through effective monitoring and controls.
Required skills/experience:

Degree and/or Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline.

Strong qualitative skills and a sound knowledge of the structure and contents of insurer's financial and regulatory reports and management accounting reports.

Involvement in contributing in a big way to general insurer ICA and development of ORSA.

Excellent IT skills and knowledge of insurer IT systems.

Excellent presentational and report writing abilities.

Excellent internal communication and negating skills.
Essential Skills:
-
At least Five years' experience in a comparable role in a general insurance company, ideally encompassing Commercial, Marine & Property.

Sound understanding of emergent regulatory requirements including Solvency II including the implications for insurers risk functions
