My client, a large retail bank, are currently recruiting for an IT Assurance Manager who will be responsible for working alongside End to End Project Managers & Delivery Managers in managing and controlling change within the Bank, ensuring appropriate oversight of 3rd party providers and internal IT resources to achieve successful delivery, on time and within budget.

They will be responsible for liaising with Business owners as a single point of contact within IT, covering all aspects of IT including BAU, Incident Management & Change.

They will also ensure that business & change demand for IT services is managed efficiently and effectively, and maintain a single view of all IT activity within their area.

The ideal candidate will ensure high levels of engagement and will be working closing with Managing Directors of the organisation, extensive stakeholder experience is a must.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Substantial IT and business experience gained in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Excellent account, stakeholder, resource and performance management experience, and be driven by customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Good understanding of strategic planning techniques.
  • Quick starter in acquiring business knowledge and expertise for related business areas.
  • Knowledge and experience of IT sourcing, contracts, supplier management, and outsourcing.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people, cultures and organisations - politically aware in these contexts.
  • Experience of managing third party IT suppliers (including software package vendors and systems integration companies).
  • Excellent planning, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with management at all levels
  • Highly developed communication skills; able to present effectively at major meetings and conferences.
  • Strong drive for results with ability to motivate/inspire diverse teams to deliver complex solutions.
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining interfaces with major partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think creatively in identifying possible solutions to a wide range of business and supplier related challenges.
  • IT budget management experience and a thorough understanding of the Project life cycle
  • Risk assessment and decision making skills.
  • Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills and commercial awareness
  • Highly motivated, and motivating, manager of a team of IT professionals (comprising internal staff, contract and 3rd party suppliers)
  • Broad exposure to, and practical experience, of IT project management
  • Drive for continuous improvement
  • Methodical and rigorous approach to project reporting
